What is this blog all about?

Hi.  Thanks for stopping by.

I’m Brother Azrael.  The thoughts, feelings, experiences, and other forms of bullshit presented on this blog are, unless otherwise stated, mine.  Feel free to quote them and share them, just tell folks where they came from.

I’m writing this blog because I’m a devout (although unorthodox and usually doubting) Christian and a freedom-loving anarcho-syndicalist.  These two are not seen as compatible by many folks, but I believe they can be and I plan to try and stumble around and perhaps come a little closer towards an authentic expression of Christian anarchism.  It’s my goal.  We’ll see how it works out.

And sometimes if I feel like it I might blog about other things I’m thinking, feeling, doing, cooking, eating, playing, strumming, making, writing, reading, watching, or listening to that might not be directly related to religion or anarchism.

Please know that I like healthy, respectful dialogue and welcome comments and e-mails, but I don’t want to be a platform for folks to spew anti-religious rants or fear-mongering religious rhetoric.  If you want to tell others that religion is evil or that they need to adopt your religion unless they like hell, do so elsewhere, please!  I maintain the right to choose not to publish comments or reply to e-mails.

And please further know that I do hope we can exchange ideas and learn together, but I’m not trying to “evangelize,” i.e. pressure anybody into adopting my views and vocabulary.

If you feel like e-mailing me, my address is brother(dot)azrael(at)riseup(dot)net.

And if you’re curious, the name of this blog was inspired by my reading the book of Tobit.
