This week I have been looking for Ceps, Not found any yet but found Black Stain Fungus And Amethyst Deceivers. Both when cooked have a meaty texture. When put in a stew Black Stain is like eating chicken, as is Hen Of The Wood & Chicken Of The Woods.
Amethyst Deceiver has the texture of roast beef and has a delicious and unique flavour. I recommend frying in butter with pepper turn into pasta or on toast.
