ATK conducts its operations within three business groups: ATK Armament Systems, ATK Mission Systems, and ATK Space Systems.

ATK Armament Systems manufactures ammunition, supplying both military and commercial products, and is operator of military ammunition plants. ATK Mission Systems is a supplier of precision systems, aerospace structures, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR) programs, and electronic warfare. ATK Space Systems is the world’s leading producer of solid rocket propulsion systems, provider of small and micro-satellites, satellite components and subsystems, missile defence and strategic missile propulsion, lightweight space deployables, and solar arrays and technical services.

ATK Armament Systems produces shells for the U.S. Air Force and rounds for the U.S. Army.

During the Iraq wars, the U.S. dropped 300 tons of DU. Its depleted uranium was used in Gaza during the 2008-2009 Operation Cast Lead.

ATK also produces fuses for cluster bombs and guided multiple launch rocket systems; and engages with an Israeli company in the production of rubber-coated bullets, which are frequently used against Palestinians; and is engaged in other contracts that support the Israeli military in enforcing the occupation.

In short, Alliant Tech Systems Inc. is a war profiteer and notorious manufacturer and seller of indiscriminate and illegal weapons such as cluster bombs, depleted uranium munitions, land mines, as well as rocket motors for delivery of nuclear bombs via missiles.

Between Oct. 1996 and Oct 2011, 721 arrests were made for nonviolent acts of civil resistance at ATK’s corporate headquarters. First in Hopkins (295), then Edina (404) and Eden Prairie (22).
