Him – When Men Are The Victims

I’ve been thinking about this for a while.
It’s something that’s quite controversial, and contrary to popular beliefs.

I’ve been seeing all these memes of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard on social media.
Apparently, Johnny and Amber’s bitter divorce and leaks have been on the news since 2016.
But I didn’t even know who Amber Heard was until late 2020.

I’m not a fan of Johnny Depp or Amber Heard. In fact, I can’t remember watching any of their movies. I haven’t even watched Johnny’s famous “pirate movies”.

I’m not going to go into the details of Johnny and Amber’s beef. There’s probably a thousand news articles about them by now.

What I want to talk about is the victim. The real victim – Johnny Depp.

How many of us, ever stop and think – what if men are the victims?
Have you ever thought about that?
I’ll admit that I haven’t.
I’ve never viewed myself as a victim, even when I was a victim.
It just didn’t cross my mind that I was a victim.
And I’m sure there are a lot of men out there, who’ve never considered themselves victims.
Because that’s just how men are. We’ve been taught to be tough. If you get punched and beat down, you just get up and brush yourselves.

And it’s really weird that whenever I think of the word victim, I think of the women.
Because women, are most often the victims in any cases of abuse.
Women, will often come out and reveal the details of the abuse they had faced at the hands of men.

But what about the men?
How many men have come forward with details they have faced at the hands of women?
Very few. Very very few.
It’s almost rare to hear of male victims.

Does it mean that men aren’t victims?
No.
What it means is that a lot of men just had to suck it up and move on, because they were either too embarrassed to talk about what they’d dealt with or they were afraid no one would believe them.

And that’s one of the problems our society has been facing until now – people are more likely to believe women than men.

It’s quite easy for a woman to file a false report against a man and make him lose everything.
I’ve read of numerous news articles of some woman filing a false report and ruining a man’s life. Those are only the cases where people found out that she was lying. What about the cases where the man couldn’t put up a fight and no one believed his protests?

Here’s something else that I’ve been thinking about recently: Have you ever seen a situation where the man lost a case just because he wasn’t popular with others?
Think of a guy who isn’t liked by a lot of people. Maybe they hate his guts, maybe they hate the way he talks, maybe they hate his personality, maybe he’s ugly… maybe he’s a big fat hairy ugly bastard with a stinky breath.
Would people be willing to listen to his side of the story?
Or would they rather side with the beautiful crying damsel in feigned distress?

Appearances can cloud people’s judgment. People could go by what they’re seeing even if it’s all fake.

I’m not a fan of Johnny Depp.
Even now, after doing some research and looking into his case, I’m still not his fan.
But I believe the man was telling the truth.
And I hope he wins whatever cases are going on at the moment, and I hope he finds justice.

I took one look at Amber Heard, and I thought, yep! She looks like someone who could manipulate anyone. And she did. She manipulated her lawyers, the judges, the news media, and the public for God knows how long.
A perfect case of beautiful crying damsel in feigned distress. And the world fell for it. Because people stopped using their brains, and they believed everything they saw. Such a shame! It’s a damn shame.
