Soup – £1. Bring your favourite games along, or play the games at BASE. All ages welcome.
BASE’s Bike Workshop is here to help you to fix your pedal bike!
Our volunteer mechanics will help you diagnose the problem, and then help you to fix it. We have a good stock of bike parts at low prices, and a large range of bike tools to use for free.
The Bike Workshop does not charge for time, effort or tool use, but does welcome donations towards its costs. Hot drinks available for 50p donation.
Please note the bike workshop can get very busy and you may have to wait to use tools and get advice – please be patient and don’t harass the hard-working volunteers. Anyone behaving in an anti-social or abusive manner will be told to leave. Thanks.
Yum Yum! BASE’s weekly Sunday Social vegan cafe features a set vegan meal cooked up by volunteers, and served up about 6.30pm…until we run out! Read more info here.
There is often a film after the dinner, at about 7.30pm; sometimes a talk or discussion; and sometimes music. There’s always plenty of people to chat with, socialise & network. You can also check out BASE’s free library (borrow a book!) and Info Shop, plus there’s loadsa free info on local campaigns & events.

We ask for a donation of approx £2.50 for starter & main, and £1 for puddings. Hot/cold drinks available for 50p. We do not turn people away who are skint – please just say so and you’ll be fed perhaps you can contribute in some other way?
We always welcome new volunteers to help cook for the cafe, and to wash up & clean up after.

Join Community Action on Prison Expansion (CAPE) to stop further mass incarceration in the U.K. through the development of a mega prison in Wellingborough.
Private company Kier is being paid £143 million to build the proposed prison, which will lock up over 1600 people.
Wellingborough is one of the areas most affected by job losses and other impacts of austerity. Whilst Kier has promised the prison will bring in new jobs, the introduction of exploitable prison labour is likely to threaten the jobs and wages of the local community.
Kier is profiting off exploitation of people in cages, most of whom will be working class; disproportionate numbers will also be Black and Brown, LGBTQ, and/or disabled.
We say: stop building prisons, let us build support for our communities!
