I will be giving a talk on the philosophy of Richard Jefferies as part of a special day being held by local group the Worthing Downlanders.
The Victorian poet-naturalist, quoted in ‘Antibodies’, has been a great inspiration to me for many years and happens to be buried here in Worthing.
His evocation of the downlands, and how he found there a spiritual connection to the universe and time past and fuure, is simply unrivalled and he deserves to be far better known.
The event starts at 2pm on Saturday August 14 at Broadwater Parish Rooms, Broadwater Street West, Broadwater, Worthing. See www.worthingdownlanders.org uk.
I think the talk at the Worthing Alliance meeting went well. There is a report filed here.
