FINAL NEWSLETTER OF THE YEAR

This is our last mail out of the year, and it has been Pumpkin Records best year to date. We’ve had released out from Defcon Zero, Spanner, Officer Down, From The Cradle To The Rave, Beng Beng Cocktail, My Own Religion, Atrocity Solution to name a few.

We have been slowly trying to build up a collective over the past 5 years to a standard where the collective can support itself, and we think it is finally heading that way. We are getting more orders which means we can put out more releases, bands have been on the label for years and are getting to know each other better, tour together and do split releases together. This is exactly what we wanted out of Pumpkin and this is down to everyone who buys a release, goes to see the bands play, or even just helps by talking about Pumpkin, and for this we are eternally grateful. There is no way to express this but for a start we will be releasing the next Pumpkin sampler for free, and we will think of other things after that! There’s only two of us here so it can take a lot of time to get things done!

So thanks for your support, patience (e know some releases have been late!) and hopefully 2012 will be even better. Now here’s a bit of news.

NEW RELEASES:

Our first two releases of the year are the long awaited ‘Tribute To Rudimentary Peni’ and ‘From Rusholme with Dub’, here’s some information on both of them.

‘A Tribute To Rudimentary Peni’ is a project we have had in mind since we were young, always been a favourite band of mine and it is a privilege to be putting this out, in fact we are shocked no one else has! Bands on this include Star Fucking Hipsters, The Restarts, Police Bastard and more. I have attached The Restarts track to this email for your listening pleasure!

‘From Rusholme with Dub’ is a 10 track split release on CD and Vinyl between Autonomads and Black Star Dub Collective. For Autonomads this is a long awaited new release after selling nearly 1000 copies of their belting first album ‘No Mans Land’, the band have taken a bit more of a free festival sound lime AOS3, AK47′s etc but we think it is for the better, there still is some change with one raging track but you will have to wait until it’s released to hear it. Black Star Dub Collective are strictly political reggae/dub, with influences from steppas (Iration Steppas, Disciples etc) to roots reggae (no need to name anyone here!!) This is their first release and both bands have toured together many times and we are nearly ready to release the album in January 2012.
