Graham, Hubert and Wilfred Whiteford were three brothers from St George in Bristol. They each responded to the First World War in different ways; one signed up for the Army, another joined the Non Combatant Corps - prepared to do ambulance duty on the frontline but not to carry a gun - and the third, refusing to fight on political grounds, was sent to Horfield Jail. Their proud father had them photographed together with the third son in a mocked up prison garb. We would be grateful for more information on the Whiteford brothers.
