SOCPA 7 meetings this week

In 2012-2013 seven people were raided, arrested and charged for conspiracy to commit SOCPA 145 & 146, two laws introduced in 2005 against anti-vivisection campaigners that turn minor public order breaches into serious criminal offences punishable by up to five years in prison.

The ‘SOCPA7’ were facing a two month trial, however following discussions with the prosecution, the defendants agreed to a plea deal at a court hearing on 5th Sept.

To find out more about the terms of the plea deal and why the defendants chose to take it see: http://www.socpa7.org/plea_deal.html
