Liberated space guidance

Staffordshire Mutual Aid Alliance seeks to create a liberated space for all individuals and organisations . As we are decentralised and non hierachcal, we are all part of the cultivation of the space that we are in. The collective itself is made up of people within marginailised groups discriminated on the basis of race, gender, sexuality and disability. Therefore, we encourage everyone to partake in the guidance points we set out so we can ensure this is a space that everyone feels able to express their thoughts, opinions without barriers to engagement and fear of safety, bigotry, shame, compromised identity, discrimination, bullying etc.

These guidance points are as follows:

  • Please no recording/photos and mentioning of others identity
  • Be kind and respectful to others
  • No yelling, wait your turn to speak, or insulting towards others
  • Non partisanship
  • Autonomy

We appreciate that non partisanship seems like an odd thing to add, this is to ensure that idealogical debates and partisanship does not get in the way of our goals of the provision of mutual aid, unity and pragmatism.

By autonomy we mean that we welcome

We ask for no recording, photos and mentioning of others identity as we want to ensure everyone feels safe to partake without fear of safety and compromised identity.

We are welcome to any discussion for additions to the safe space guidance. Any questions email staffordshiremutualaid@protonmail.com
