  • Far right attacks in Epsom

On April 11th, a rape was reported to have taken place outside a church in Epsom. As soon as this became public knowledge, far right agitators demanded to know the ethnicity of the suspect, which has not been released publicly

Despite Surrey Police clarifying there was no evidence to suggest that the attacker was a migrant or asylum seeker, these same far right agitators started spreading misinformation that an attack was indeed perpetrated by an asylum seeker

This led to protests in Epsom, mostly attended by people not from Epsom, who then themselves started committing their own violence in the area

Mobs attacked a Travelodge, claming it to be a hotel for refugees, despite locals making it clear to the mob that this was just a regular Travelodge. In fact, no asylum hotels currently exist in Epsom

The mob also attacked a building they claimed was a HMO housing migrants. However, this building was accomodation for the elderly, and before that a domestic violence shelter. At no point had it ever been migrant accommodation

A local journalist who was at the protest, Ezekiel Bertrand (who is black), reports being told by members of the crowd to “get out of this country” and “get back on your boat and go where you came from”. He reports similar comments being made to passersby

Many known far-right figures were present in Epsom. “Brexit” Brian Stovell was streaming as he does from pretty much every far-right event, alongside far-right YouTubers calling themselves “auditors”. Danny Tommo, a long time fascist who has been accused of scamming his own followers, was also present. Members of South East Patriots and Patriots of Britain, as well as a number of known football hooligans, were also present at the protest. Members of these groups as well as many auditors have previously been locked up for attacking women. Those organising the protests online have also attended Tommy Robinson marches

It’s clear to see that these agitators do not care about locals in Epsom, nor do they care about the women and children they claim to protect. Attacking residences for the elderly, hotels, and local people just going about their day does nothing to protect survivors of sexual violence. It does nothing to help women seeing their town descended on by a baying mob when they report a rape

We all know that had the police released the identity of the suspect, and he’d been white and British, these mobs would not be in Epsom and wouldn’t be saying anything about this attack. They just want an excuse to be violent towards non-white people, who these far-right sorts don’t view as human

While these agitators bring up the memory of the Southport victims to justify their actions in Epsom, secretly they crave another Southport, to the point where they will make up lies about real sexual violence to justify the unjustifiable

Far-right groups accuse migrants and refugees of doing the same things these agitators do to the women in their lives. It is hypocrisy of the highest order

Reject the lies and destruction of the far-right. They don’t give a damn about you or your community

  • No Fascist Flags

They may seem like a simple nuisance in your neighbourhood but they are an act of intimidation by far-right goups against assylum seekers and non-white residents.

The campaign was co-founded by Andrew Currien (AKA: Andy Saxon), who has links to the English Defence League and Britain First

It “was never about flags, it’s about giving confidence to racists and fascists to target refugees and migrants.”

  • stand against transphobic policing

    From @surrey_trans_action

Surrey police have announced their new policy on policing the trans community, and it’s as disappointing as expected:

    • Surrey police has repeatedly ignored previous requests for trans voices to be heard in regard to their new policies.
    • Quarterly trans meetings with the force have ended in frustration over the lack of communication
    • Officers are permitted to strip search individuals who have been assigned the sane sex at birth as them, regardless of legal, medical or social transition.
    • The policy shows a blatant disregard for community cohesion or practicality, with the force putting up no protest despite claiming their support for our community

If you want to stand against transphobic policing, then join us on the 20th of September in protest against the policy.

    Solidarity and anger,

    Surrey trans action

  • London is Antifascist

Racism is off the charts. Fascist protests are now taking place weekly, if not daily, in our communities with the intention to threaten, harass or intimidate us. St. George’s flags are being used as symbols of territorial control by the far right, deliberately concentrated in areas where asylum seekers are housed. Meanwhile, flag shagger in chief Keir Starmer refuses to act. History shows us that only we can drive back the fascists and ensure our safety. On 13th September Tommy Robinson, alongside racist rioters from across Britain and abroad, and other far right leaders, plan to gather for what they are calling “the largest free speech rally the world has ever seen”. We will not stand by or look away. Join us in making our message loud and clear: racists and bigots will never be welcome in London. Follow @ldn.161 for info
