Too busy to blog! Fascist manifestations this weekend.

First of all, respect to all those who turned out at short notice to oppose the EDL in Westminster last weekend, there’s a bit of comment on it below, and if you can make the counter-BNP action tomorrow, you will be most welcome. If not, you will probably find an EDL demo within gobbing distance of your living room! They are springing up like mushrooms – check social media for details.

What is going on is basically a turf war between far-right groups to exploit the horrific death of Lee Rigby. The eddles are holding simultaneous ‘wreath laying’ events at war memorials all over the land as a spoiler for the BNP’s march. Wherever they get sufficient numbers, these will most likely turn into piss-ups and drunken rampages so it’s important that none of them are unopposed.

If your area has a mass mobilisation, please support it; if they are coming to your neck of the woods and you’re the only anti-fascist in the village, you have a choice of attending one of the others or mobbing up with some of your mates – who may not agree with your politics but may not want their town centre controlled by right-wing extremists either. Failing that, if you can do so inconspicuously, hang around and take pictures, or notes, and pass your observations to the network through your local group.

Also be aware that left and radical meetings, cultural events, anti-austerity demo’s etc may be attacked and will need stewarding; union offices and Muslim businesses are also possible targets for the fascists. Whatever you do, don’t just sit at home and watch it all unfold on the Internet.

The present spike in fascist activity ought to kick us out of bed, anti-fascism is not a hobby, it’s a necessity. One observation from Monday was that whilst they outnumbered us massively, few of them were up for any contact beyond throwing stuff and threatening bystanders. The fact that they stood in the sun for hours listening to a bunch of old con-men who all hate each other indicates that many of them are completely new to this, it beggars belief that anyone would give the time of day to an arse-bugle like Yaxley-Lennon if they’d been following what’s gone on in the last few years.

So for now, it looks like the EDL have managed to pull the disaffected UKIP voters on to the streets, the facebook fascists have become fair-weather fascists, they must be discouraged before they get a taste for it.

Fascist manifestations are expected in the following locations:
Leicester, Luton, Peterborough, Dereham, Ipswich, Cambs, Sheffield, Stoke, Halifax, Leeds, Lowestoft, Wolverhampton, Islington, Manchester, Aldershot, Burton on Trent, Rochdale, Ashford (Middlesex), Stevenage, Loughborough, Bromsgrove, Preston, Sunderland, Dudley, Coventry, Takeley, Wootton Bassett, West Bromwich, Oldham, Romford, Macclesfield, Cardiff, Lewisham, Southampton, Glasgow, Ayr, Colerne, Walsall, Scarborough, Hemel Hempstead, Conwy, Chingford, Doncaster, Rotherham, Huddersfield, Bristol, Southampton, Portsmouth, Exeter, Brighton, Weymouth, Bournemouth, Slough, Reading, Oxford, Northampton and Basingstoke.

  • Video Transport Console for FCP & Premiere (iPhone/iPod/iPad) $5
  • Audio fader Console for FCP & Audition (iPhone/iPod/iPad) $5
  • Lightroom sorter (iPhone/iPod/iPad) $5
  • Lightroom Develop Console (iPad/iPad mini) $20
  • Video Editing Console for FCP & Premiere (iPad/iPad mini) $30

  • Designed for Final Cut Pro 7/X and Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Gestures for media-focused editing (See ‘Gestures’)
  • Full transport controls
  • Zero perceivable delay
  • Easy Wi-Fi connectivity to your laptop or desktop
  • More features than $3000 hardware editing consoles
  • Mac and Windows compatible

The Alchemy of Anarchy

The Alchemy of Anarchy is the title of a workshop I’ll be doing at the Stop G8 convergence centre in central London on Sunday June 9, at 12 noon.

Contrary to the general perception, alchemy isn’t principally about an unrealistic attempt to turn base metals into gold, but about the need for an inner renewal, also projected outside the individual on to society.

Its philosophy is linked to early Christian mysticism, to Sufism and also, I will argue, to anarchism.

If you think that sounds far-fetched, consider that Gustav Landauer writes about the “transformative ambitions” of anarchism, Michael Bakunin talks of the need to “purify our atmosphere and transform completely the surroundings in which we live” and Emma Goldman describes the anarchist revolution as a “mental and spiritual regenerator”.

I’ll be going into all this in more detail, and hopefully sparking a general discussion, at the meeting on June 9.

To find out where the convergence centre is and how to get there, keep an eye on http://network23.org/stopg8

The West End is one of London’s financial centres and London is at the heart of global capitalism. The West End hosts private banks for London’s wealthy elites, private investment funds and PR companies to handle the reputational issues of the city’s corporations and mega rich. All of this is carried on behind closed doors, however the West End is also host to the private members’ clubs and cocktail bars where the powerful flaunt their wealth.Wherever there is extreme wealth at the expense of the poor it necessitates military force to protect the powerful from rebellion. The mining companies of the West End require military might to defend their land grabs from the anger of indigenous peoples. Oil companies, like BP on St James’s Square, need state neo-imperialism to exploit the resources of subjugated nations all over the world. Global capitalism requires repression to ensure against revolt.

The West End is a centre of London’s arms trade. Companies like L-3, based at 27b Floral Street, manufacture drone and surveillance technology to ensure that populations remain tame and compliant in the face of global capitalist oppression. Around the corner at 15 Lower Regent Street is the world’s largest military contractor, the US company Lockheed Martin. Lockheed Martin’s complicity in global military oppression is almost too large to comprehend, with contracts in everything from missiles to aircraft. The UK’s largest arms manufacturer BAE hold offices at 6 Carlton Gardens. Riddled with long-running corruption scandals concerning the payment of sums of approximately £30m per quarter for more than 10 years to Saudi Prince Bandar as well as other high profile corruption cases in South Africa, BAE have now been forced to pay the US government £48.7m for breach of military export laws, mere pocket-money for them of course.

The West End is also host to the head offices of private military companies, which make money from providing security to corporate contractors seeking profit in situations of military conflict and occupation where they require protection from angry populations. Erinys, at 66 Chiltern Street, has provided security to Western contractors in Iraq and has been accused of torturing an Iraqi teenager. Aegis, at 118 Piccadilly, had a £225m contract from the US government to oversee all private military personnel in Iraq. When the US Military pulled out of Baghdad, Aegis was one of the eight companies which replaced it.

These actions have human consequences. Millions are killed every year in military conflict, from the more-than-a-decade occupation of Afghanistan, which has brought nothing but death and turmoil to the people of the country, to the Israeli state occupation and apartheid against the people of Palestine to the US’s covert drone attacks in Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia. Military companies are benefiting from these bloody conflicts while the net result of all this is to maintain the current status quo — global domination by a handful of capitalist states.

Join us in the West End on Wednesday 12th June to show the CEOs of these companies that they cannot hide from our anger behind the closed doors and nondescript shopfronts of the West End and that the CCTV and surveillance culture that they advocate cannot tame the population forever, that there will be a fightback.

Meet at 2pm, June 12th, West End, BAE Systems, 6 Carlton Gardens, SW1Y 5AD. Join Us

Galaxy_S4
chip Qualcomm quadcore a 1.9GHz
16Gb di memoria (espandibili con microsd fino a 64Gb)
schermo full hd
fotocamera posteriore da 13Mpixel e anteriore da 2Mpixel
circa 8 ore di autonomia con uso tranquillo
connettore microUSB (che trovate dappertutto)
(batteria facilmente intercambiabile)
