We’re working on a few massive projects at the moment, so pardon the slow down in posts. We’re working on a piece about the Clery Act (and how ASUPD fails to meet the minimum standards prescribed under aforementioned act) in tandem with a student organization.
We’re also in the process of inundating the PD with several requests for information.

I’m sure they will be scrambling to cover their asses, selectively release material in violation of law, lie to their bosses, lie to us, and make 101 excuses for whatever is found. A leadership can only lose so much trust before there’s no way to earn it back.
Command from the Arizona State University Police Department doesn’t feel the need to be accountable to anyone until Crow calls. Their years of leadership through concentrated ego has been the undoing of the department.
The department has reached an all time low resulting in command coming up with nothing but cheap gimmicks to turn it around. Pickens attempted to buy loyalty from all the employees salaried at 70k and above, but has failed.
It failed because not everyone can be bought, money is no substitute for leadership, for charisma, or intelligence. Money helps, but it doesn’t prove a boss cares about his employees, especially when it’s not his money, especially when your boss lies about it and everything else. Money helps, but you can’t buy integrity any more than you can buy leadership.
The actions by command scream desperation, which will reach a fever pitch once things get exposed and outside authorities look into things. Has anyone looked into how the DPS takeover of capital police happened? Maybe that needs to happen since there’s a significant conflict of interest between the university leadership and the mission of public safety. I look forward to the shit getting real.
Well it’s about time somebody called in the professionals to snake the pipes at ASUPD. There’s a mess load in the pipes at the top of the organization and it needs cleaned out for the department to honor it’s mission and protect the public.
I hope all this lights a fire under the right asses to get in gear and change the department. Maybe the information I sent you will be of some value. Whenever accountability is required expect excuses.
The corrupt bullshit that passes for police leadership here is a sad joke perpetrated on the public. As the truth becomes increasingly public good things will come. Ever time something wrong happens here people need to be called out for it otherwise it’s forgotten, swept under the rug.
This police agency needs a “big thing” to get it where it needs to be. Pickens and the negative command he plucked from obscurity are not forward thinking creative innovators. They are self destructive to the agency, why do you think people never want to stay unless they can’t leave or promote? When an agency struggles with the same issues for years with no positive results that says something about who’s leading it.
Keep kicking that ass. I don’t comment as much as I should, but I love reading it.
You guys that think Salcido, Olsen, or any of those guys are doing anything more than looking to gather intelligence and cover ass are mistaken. What has been done? Anything accomplished?
The problems at ASUPD now have been there for years and will be there for years as long as Pickens and his toxic commanders are fucking up on leadership, morale, and lack of prior policing experience.
I can’t wait to see it unfold.
The department as it is now is a model of government waste, greed, corruption, and inefficiency. I applaud your efforts and the efforts of those people looking to positively change the department. Remember, no good deed goes unpunished.
I have to admit it gives me great pleasure to see this unfolding. I wish it didn’t, I wish I could say everything is great, but I can’t live the lie.
