The 4AM Sound System is a 23,000 watt powerhouse, built and run for the SF and northern California electronic music community. We have provided sound for warehouse parties, after hours events, festivals, and electronic music shows since 2010. 4AM has hosted acts such as Drum and Bass sensation Maztek, local legends like Forest Green from the movie Groove, and DJ Dutch of Opulent Temple. Also we have had older classics like Uk Hardcore hero Luna-C play on our speakers and we have even organized quite a few of our own gatherings over the years.

Our mains, the Unity215’s, are among the most advanced, most versatile and most efficient high-powered portable P.A. boxes available on the market today. The U215 is a radical loudspeaker cabinet design utilizing the patented Unity™ Summation Aperture Horn Technology invented by loudspeaker designer Tom Danley.

Our subwoofers, the Yorkville Ls1208 “basspipe” is a multiple flare horn, connected to an organ like pipe, slowly flaring to the mouth. The bandwidth is narrowed, optimized to a specific range in the lower registers. Outdoor measurements show very smooth, very high output in the 35Hz to 200Hz range. In addition, a significant gain is achieved when using two units side by side as the mouth nears maximum acoustic load (we own four of them).

4AM’s mission is to provide top quality audio reinforcement and to support underground rave culture.
