About Bristol & District Hazards Group

Bristol and District Hazards Group was formed in February 2012. It is an open group for rank and file union safety reps and local health and safety campaigners. Group members meet on a regular basis to assist and support each other and to campaign for improvements to health, safety and welfare at work and in the wider community.
The objectives of the group are: to share information, knowledge and good practice; to assist and support trade unions in promoting health and safety; and to actively support the aims and objectives of the national Hazards Campaign.
We have organised a number of events since our launch including public meetings on blacklisting and occupational cancer as well as a film on the struggle for safer working conditions and gender equality.
We receive support from a number of trade union branches in the city including: CWU Bristol & District Amalgamated Branch; UNISON Concorde Health Branch; UNISON University of Bristol Branch; UCATT Bristol Branch and UNISON Central Bristol Health Branch.
