Cizre is nestled within the Turkish government occupied section of Kurdistan just beside the border with Syrian government occupied section of Kurdistan. It is in a beautiful part of the world but what was beautiful now has turned to ruin. It is absolutely true that fighting has existed for a long time in Cizre but the city has been all but reduced to rubble. This makes my heart weep for Cizre because it is close to my heart. I went there for only the second time in my life and I wish to return one day when the flowers bloom, my children dance and play in the streets and parks and life thrives. The get to this point we need to fight the imperialist and fascist occupying forces of the Turkish state. In Cizre we have Yekîneyên Parastina Sivîl (Civil Protection Units) engaging in combat against the fascist forces of Turkish government imperialism.
