Men at Work is a group that works to understand patriarchy and men’s role in it through reading, discussion, and reflection. We are especially interested in how patriarchy manifests itself in our struggles and our lives as anarchists/radicals.

Men become beneficiaries of patriarchy at the expense of everyone else. Largely this happens whether we want it to or not, and men need to come to terms with this and take steps to undermine it. We aim to fight patriarchy by committing to understanding its effects on our lives and behaviors, including how it works and how we benefit from it. We recognize that this work in itself will not destroy oppression and the sources of our oppressive socialization – capitalism, the state, and ultimately the civilization those forces create and seek to uphold. Rather, we view this work as necessary to our survival and well-being and to the survival and well-being of our friends, comrades, and loved ones.
