Milborne Port has begun the process of working towards plastic free status. In April 2019 Milborne Port Parish Council voted to support community efforts to reduce single use plastics. The council went on to organise a litter-pick, which attracted around a dozen volunteers. Over 20 refuse sacks of plastic and general litter were collected from the streets of Milborne Port.
There’s more to be done, and local businesses are being canvassed to see if they can find creative alternatives to single-use plastics.
Our journey has only just begun, so please keep checking back for new developments.
