    Information

Thank you for participating in the survey. This research is coursework for an Open University MSc professional project. This is independent research, not commissioned by any organisation.

The survey asks about privacy in using computers, focusing on personal rather than work use, and includes any personal computing devices, such as desktops or smartphones.

There are no right or wrong answers and no specific knowledge is required to complete the survey. There are 20 questions.

The survey is anonymous and does not track respondents (see hosting privacy policy). However, consider avoiding any particularly sensitive, or illegal information. Alternative ways of taking the survey are available on the contact page. Please only complete the survey once.

    Data storage and reporting

Submitted survey data will be stored securely in the researcher’s email and offline.

The final report will include aggregated statistics of survey responses and common themes. This report will be available to Open University staff (as coursework), and may be selectively distributed to survey invitees or interested parties on request to the researcher.

It will be useful for the researcher to be able to include samples of responses in the report. Please select the checkbox below if you are happy to allow this. This is entirely optional.

    Research updates

If you would like to be updated about the research, you can sign up for updates. This is optional and the data is stored separately from survey responses.

If you have any questions or concerns before, during or after completing the survey, you are welcome to contact the researcher in confidence.
