** HACKNEY LIBRARIES **

HAG is planning
– leafletting sessions
– Join the council lobby on 20th July 6pm
– Organise an Library Infonight on 21st July 7pm at well furnished

Update;
– cuts to library services and workers in Hackney
– public consultation took place with loads of people attending
– workers setup a petition which now has 2000 signatures

Leafletting sessions:
Thursday 14th 1:30pm @ Hackney Central Library
Friday 15th 2pm @ CLRJames in Dalston
Saturday 16th 2pm @ Homerton
Monday 18th 12:30pm @ Stamford Hill
Tuesday 19th 2pm @ Hackney Library, Mare Street
Wednesday 20th 6-7pm @ Hackney Town Hall, Mare Street

Wed 20th Lobby, 6pm in front of Hackney Town Hall:
Thanks to the number of signatures the petition got, the Library cuts issue has been added as an agenda point for the next full Hackney council meeting taking place on Wednesday 20th July 6-7pm @ Hackney Town Hall, Mare Street.
HAG is planning:
– banner/signs making at WellFurnished 3-6pm
– to be at the lobby to support and flyer about the Infonight

Infonight Thu 21st 7pm at Well Furnished:
– speakers: staff workers, library users. to be confirmed: Lewsiham library occupation people, ESOL worker, Feminist library worker, Prison library..
– open discussion.

** SAINSBURY’S **
– plan to build a giant sainsbury’s in Stoke Newington
– there will be a meeting about it Wednesday 13 July at 7pm, St Mary’s Church Community Centre, Defoe Road (Church Street end)

** ALARM PAPER **
– HAG will try and contribute with a hackney J30 report
– meeting on Sunday 24th, 5:30pm @ Calthorpe Arms for people ‌interested in making the ALARM paper happen.

** PLAYGROUND **
– group been meeting and having workdays on abandoned piece of land in Hackney to create a playground or other community land project
– work day on Monday 25th July, contact us for more information
