Structure of the group

HAG is a group of individuals from Hackney who agree on the broad principles of HAG (for the time being, the call out for the first open meeting).

The group will have fortnightly meetings as well as a regular (monthly, adhoc) discussion group meeting for more in-depths political/theoretical discussions. We see the discussion group as a very important part of the project, as it will allow us to:
– concentrate on practical organising during the HAG meetings
– address important ideological/theoretical issues and take our time to discuss them in the discussion group rather than trying to cram them in the fortnightly HAG meetings
– this will hopefully feed into what HAG does and our propaganda production!

Decisions will be taken on some form of loose consensus/trust between each other (this might needs more clarification in the future).

The group might work in two main ways:
– some sort of hub/communication point between different projects attached to HAG (playground, newsletter, Anticuts, J30). These projects being more or less autonomous from the group but feeding back to it and using it as a resource. The main principle is : Solidarity and Autonomy
– organising action/publishing stuff as HAG

There is a HAG phone, with contacts of Hackney people on it. It is part of the ALARM phone tree, together with other boroughs/groups.

We consider HAG as part of ALARM and will send a delegate to the ALARM meeting to feedback to it and organise/network with other groups.

We’ll have a blog/website.

There is a mailing list for HAG members, to facilitate organisation

Roles that will need to be taken care of:
– moderating the mailing list
– maintaining the website
– checking/asnwering the HAG central email
– holding the HAG phone
– having a representative to go to ALARM meetings
– facilitation/minutes taking at meetings
– remind people of HAG meetings
