One Day At A Time

It’s not the mid-term that gets you it’s the pop quiz.  If you worry to much about Friday then Wednesday will sneak up on you.  One day at a time.

If I don’t take everything one day at a time then my addiction can sneak back up on me.  “…cunning, baffling, powerful…” and patient and very very strong.  If I have to focus only on staying away from my addiction one day at a time suddenly I’m focusing on only the physical and mental aspects of it.  I can forget the spiritual just like that…and be right back in it.  That quick.  If we work on the spiritual…the physical and mental will just fall into place.

Matthew 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Wow! I mean the bible really is awesome.  It’s funny all the self-help books never seem to get it right…and bible does it all.  No mincing of words.  No try this or that.  No steps.  Just the Will and the Word of God.  Simple, but we make it complicated.  Adam and Eve were given just one rule…one step…one job.  Don’t eat from that tree.  Not even just one.

Whenever I think about the verse above…or any verse that reminds me to not worry…it brings me back to the Will of God.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

There’s more before those verse concerning God’s Will…but taken with loving your neighbor the following three sum it up for me.

1) Be happy..don’t worry. 2) Pray without ceasing. 3) Give thanks in everything.  This is the Will of God in Jesus Christ for us.
