One day at a time I will have 18 months in a few days…about a week. I started reading the “Big Book” one page at a time again today. On the anniversary of doing that last year. I’m going to read the same page and then write a paragraph or two (in a real world paper journal…the same one used six months ago) and then compare the two.
I went to a meeting tonight and the topic was admitting we are an alcoholic or an addict…the last line I wrote on 10-2-13 was “Am I an alcoholic?” paraphrasing from the last lines of the preface to the 4th edition on page xii. Wow… Another wow moment was how my writing differs in only a year. A year ago I was mostly clinical quoting some statistics from what I read…tonight it was more emotional and heartfelt truly beginning to understand why we refer to the “Big Book” fondly and why it is “…our basic text…”.
