OFFICIAL DIRTY WEEKEND CAMPSITE ANNOUNCED!!

The official campsite for this years Dirty Weekend festival will be on the fields of Bryn-Y-Grog Hall, off the A525, Marchwiel, Wrexham LL130SR
Please note you are allowed to drive onto the camping field and pitch your tent next to your vehicle (no long walks lugging gear and beer)
Camping stoves are permitted however there are NO FIRES ALLOWED,people lighting fires will be asked to leave.
There is drinking water , a toilet block (proper wood cabin type thing not a portaloo) we have also arranged for a vegan/veggie catering van to be on site and there is also a village shop about a mile away.
In the opposite direction towards town and only 4 mins drive away (about a mile) there is a Lidl supermarket.
Town is only 10 minute taxi ride/20 minute walk and there is a bus stop 200 yards away.
There is also a carboot sale in the opposite field on the sunday selling the usual stuff with a burger van selling egg/bacon butties etc for those that want them.

BUS SERVICE- opporated by GHA coaches ,number 146 (whitchurch) and run from the center of town stand 2.
The Campsite bus stop run at 28 mins past the hour from 07.28hrs-22.28hrs FRIDAY/SATURDAY please note there are only 2 bus services on SUNDAY running into town these are at 11.33 and 13.33 and take you directly into the center of town.

TRAIN TRAVEL- There are two railway stations in Wrexham ,General and Central, both are just a short walk into town ,however if you intend to stay at the campsite i would suggest using Wrexham General as there is a taxi rank located at the station.

TRAVELLING BY CAR
Wrexham has good road links and is easy to get to just follow signposts to Wrexham and then as you come along the A483
(For the campsite) follow the signpost for Gresford/Wrexham industrial estate then immidiately follow the A525 (Whitchurch) signs.As you come into the village of Marchwiel look out for the D.W.2012 signs pointing you to the campsite entrance.
(for the venue) Same as above but when come into wrexham look out for signposts for waterworld (cheapest/largest car park)The venue is only a short walk away.

CAR PARKING-cheapest parking is at waterworld car park, LL138BG £3 for over three hours and then 50p from 6pm to midnight.(There are no barriers so you wont get locked in)

Camping will cost £7 per person for the full weekend. ADVANCE TICKETS ONLY!!!!!! There will be none available on the day!

You will be able to book your camping spot for the weekend as a package with your Dirty Weekend ticket. So as soon as weve got it all sorted out we will announce how you can buy your tickets on here. Watch this space! Were all gettin very excited!

2 NEW RELEASES ON AUGUST 26TH

After way too long, we are pleased to announce that the ‘Tribute To Rudimentary Peni’ will be on sale at the Star Fucking Hipsters gig in MCR! This is NOT a Pumpkin release but a joint effort by various people to get a tribute out to our favourite band! And friends have worked on this for over 3 years now! Mental.

This is will not only be the release gig for the Peni CD, but also our new 2 Sick Monkeys / Rash Decision split. This is the newest Pumpkin Records release and has 21 tracks. Again…. mental.

NEW RELEASE GOES TO PRESS THIS WEEK

The new split from Cornwall’s Rash Decision and Wootton Bassetts finest 2 Sick Monkeys will be going to press this week!

The split is called ‘Less Is More… More Or Less’ and contains 21 tracks of some of both bands best work to date!

Both are two of the most hard working bands around and if you get the chance to see either live you definitely should, great bands and lovely people.

Pumpkin Records will have our very own stage at this years Dirty Weekend Festival in September, and after months of working on the line up….. it is almost complete! The Dirty Weekend will be spread over 3 stage and will once again have camping for anyone traveling.

We’ve been extremely busy as usual so mail outs have been few and far between, so here’s a quick update on what’s happening at Pumpkin….


RELEASES:

We have 2 brand new releases out in the coming weeks. Firstly DISCO//OSLO’s debut album will be released by Pumpkin on Wed 30th May. Expect 14 tracks of anthemic punk rock in vein of Leatherface.This release will be on 12″ with download code, we like doing things thins way so you get the best of both! For anyone who hasn’t heard DISCO//OSLO please check them out, we have been friends of the band for years with their previous projects, and highly recommend them! Catch them on tour with Autonomads starting today around the UK! The album release gig is also  a benefit for Greek political prisoners. Check the link for information:

The next release will be BrainDead’s new 7″. This is something we’ve been looking forward to for a while, after putting out their latest album ‘Weapons Of The Weak’ they have taken this 7″ in a ‘rub a dub style’ taking a track from the album and smothering it in delay, reverb and dirty punky dub. Not only are both tracks great dub tracks in their own right, but the package is too! They have opted for a Trojan style sticker and the 7″ comes in a brown paper bag, it looks the part and sounds the part! Tracks are ‘Dub Of Transgression’ and ‘Dub Comes Due’, released June 3rd.

Pre-orders for all of our releases are up on our store, all pre-orders come with patches as always and free postage.

STUDIO:

Our recording studio is full to the brim! Been working 5 days a week for months, which is great as we now have spent £2000 on new equipment including an SE Z5600a II, new Saffire interface, various microphones, stands, plug ins and more! Bands we’ve had ion lately include global Parasite, Dead Subverts, This Is How We Fall, Epic Problem and more. 

Rates are just £50 per day or £200 per week, so pretty cheap really ;)
