I just wanted the truth…

Following on from my last post, I want to share another short piece of music I recorded 25 years ago with the “group” sometimes known as Fungustruck.

This one is called Truth, something of which we are in dire need today.

Again, Steve C is on guitars and I do the vocals.

You can listen to it here.

Truth

I just wanted the truth
You kept feeding me lies
Tore a hole in my youth
Made me wear a disguise
Told me right was all wrong
Told me wrong was all right
Told me I wasn’t strong
Said I couldn’t fight

Don’t like what I say
Don’t like what I do
Think I oughta be grey
Think I oughta be you
Think I want your power
Think I want your crown
You know I’m showing you up
So you put me down

Don’t give me that crap
Heard it all before
Won’t fall in your trap
Gonna find out more
Who called the shots?
Who clipped our wings?
Who tied the knots?
Who pulled the strings?

It was you…

I’m not afraid of your guns and money
(repeats)
