Atherstone Hunt steward simulates sex with a dead goose
West Midland Hunt Sabs cubbing report-19/9/15The Atherstone Hunt met at Lodge Farm, Ibstock. Two foot walkers stayed with the hunt all day and witnessed them hunting on at least two occasions through woodland which had clear signs stating restricted wildlife areas, but this didn't stop the hunt. The rest of the land which they hunted on was access land (this means land normally available for access by foot) was owned by the National Forest which had clear signs up stating restricted wildlife areas only.http://www.nationalforest.org/The hunt tired obstructing the foot-walkers on numerous occasions and made threats to the same female sab who has had the hunt visit her home. They tried to obstruct us from filming which implies in our opinion they have something to hide. They also claimed they were laying trails………funny this as the two times the hounds were seen in cry they were going backwards and forwards through thick brambles and heavily wooded areas. The only trail that could fit through these brambles was red and furry!!The two foot-walkers were accompanied all day by a group of young male hunt stewards. We think the video attached speaks for itself as to the mentality of the Atherstone Hunt and no more words need to be written. The person that can been holding the goose is the same person who made allegations to the police regarding harassment which resulted in the Police Information Notices being issued to two of our sabs. We are out up to three times a week attending cubbing meets. Any help towards fuels costs would be greatly appreciated. It can cost us up to £30 for a round trip. Please donate using the link below:http://www.gofundme.com/da4a8ypsWe are as ever very grateful for your support in this very busy period for us both doing both cubbing and the badger cull. Please sign the petition below:https://www.change.org/p/crown-prosecution-service-prosecute-the-atherstone-huntWe also have a regular e-newsletter, you can sign up using the link below:http://facebook.us11.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=12ac063540dc3790b3110ed75&id=64363893efMany thanksWMHS

On 19 September 2015 members of West Midlands Hunt Saboteurs were monitoring the activities of the Atherstone Hunt. The saboteurs were followed all day by the Atherstone’s young hunt stewards. Towards the end of the day one of the hunt stewards was filmed in a shocking bit of footage with a dead Canadian Goose playing around with its dead body and simulating sex acts with it. Also present and filming the incident was the Huntsman’s girlfriend who is employed by the hunt as a groom. She didn’t intervene to stop the stewards rather she just sat on her horse and seemed to find the actions amusing.
A supporter of the Atherstone Hunt, Ryan Tilley, who has acted as a steward for them last season responded to the footage on the saboteurs Facebook page with a racist rant which has now been reported to the Police.
After the footage went viral on social media the Atherstone Hunt were forced to respond to the video with Joint Master Sarah Evans saying
“The Atherstone Hunt would like to make it clear that they are sickened and disgusted by the appalling behaviour of the individual with the dead bird. We would like to point out that he is neither an employee nor a member of the Hunt and he has been informed that he is not welcome to attend any Hunt events in the future”
This statement however is a lie, the steward in question, Luke Smith was assistant whip for the hunt last season and the Saboteurs have footage to prove this. The same individual also made false accusations against the saboteurs during the last hunting season which resulted in Police Information Notices (PINs) being issued to two saboteurs. The PINs were later rescinded after formal complaints were made and the saboteurs MPs complained on their behalf.
The Masters of the hunt are responsible for the conduct of each day’s hunting and are bound by the strict rules and instructions of their own governing body.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Hunt Saboteurs said
“It was completely shocking but the behaviour does not surprise me. A member of the hunt was there but does nothing about it and actually thought it was funny.
“I thought it was disgraceful behaviour towards the dead animal. I was just gobsmacked and later reported it to the police. We think the video speaks for itself as to the mentality of the Atherstone Hunt.”
