Leicestershire Police’s DS 124 Matt Trott gave two hunt saboteurs Harassment Notice’s based on the word of the Atherstone Hunt and without seeing any actual evidence (See previous post). One of the saboteurs rang DS Trott up to complain about the situation. This what DS Trott said to the saboteur on the phone:

  “You are hunt saboteurs that’s what you do, you trespass on other people’s property and harass people”

An official complaint was made about DS Trott’s obvious bias and his manner of the phone.

DS Matt Trott admitted to the conversation and even owned up to slamming the phone down on the saboteur. The complaint was upheld. Incredibly despite the clear conflict of interest and his negative views of saboteurs Trott is allowed to continue working on hunting cases as part of Operation Blackthorn. Along with PC Alison Barnes Trott continues to charge saboteurs based on allegations made by members of the Atherstone Hunt and without having any actual evidence.
