Cutting is saving, ignorance is strength

We all know about the disgraceful chopping of the School of Surveying at Kingston. The VC assured us that this had nothing to do with cost cutting, even though they are cutting three quarters of the experienced and dedicated staff (grades 9 and 10). The management-speak term here is “restructuring”. Yet now Dissenter hears that the University is advertising a Grade 8 post to teach surveying. Not cost cutting? Weinberg uses the tried and tested method of the tyrant. If you tell a lie often enough it becomes the truth.
